Five Secrets to Making a Smart Home Warranty Purchase

Phoenix, AZ, September 6, 2006- Brock Kuchynka, of InHouse Warranty, a Phoenix based warranty company, with over 25,000 customers,- believes that there are many pitfalls in choosing a home warranty in the Valley of the Sun.

-According to Kuchynka -After about three years, typically the warranties that came with the home, appliances and even the air conditioning unit are often expired.- A home owner could face thousands just in air-conditioning repair without a home warranty.-

-Kuchynka went on to say that most people only consider a home warranty when buying, selling or refinancing their home.- When, in reality, a home warranty is a smart way to protect your self from thousands of dollars in repairs. Homes between 3 - 12 years old are ideal candidates for home warranties.

-Kuchynka recommends purchasing a home warranty and asking the following questions before making a final decision.

-1 - Does the company offer a guaranteed response time for service-

Many companies offer a guaranteed response rate.- This is tricky language and often means a company guarantees you will be contacted within a certain amount of time, and in no way guarantees when your system will be repaired.

While other companies guarantee service times - which means the time it takes to have an actual technician in your home prepared to make repairs.

-2 - Who are warranty company-s technicians and who handles customer services issues, if there is a problem-

Some warranty companies, have their own fleet of technicians who provide service and customer service support.

Many national warranty companies contract with thousands of providers, meaning, it can be difficult to monitor service levels or resolve customer disputes.-----

-3 - Does the company provide a free in-home inspection-

Companies who provide a free inspection are making notes as to the condition of your home, air conditioning and other covered items. This information is noted in order to pre-approve your coverage.

Consumers should be leery of companies who want to accept your money and do not wish to inspect your home.- You do not want to find out after your dishwasher floods the kitchen that it was too old to qualify for coverage.

-4 - Are the rates guaranteed-

Some companies guarantee their rates at the time of purchase and for renewals.

While other companies hook home owners in at a low rate and then create a dramatic price increase at the time of the renewal. Your only protection is to simply ask.

-5 - Is the company local or national-

Large national companies, may offer a boat load of extra benefits, however, it could also mean that they have thousands of service providers and large out of state call centers which creates delays in actual service time.

Local warranty companies may have specialized call centers to create a more personal connection with the customers and speed up the service time.

-

Although, home warranties get very little attention, the benefits of the protection could be staggering when compared to the potential repair costs of large units like, pool pumps, air-conditioning units, refrigerators etc.

InHouse is the home warranty for Arizona-s extreme climate,- a local company with its home office in Tempe, AZ, their mission is to support the local economy by employing Arizona residents.
