REALTORS Say NO to Being Victims

Phoenix, AZ, August 28, 2006 - September 10th through the 16th is the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) Safety week. Programs are being offered across the United States to real estate professionals to help prevent the threat of violence or other potential crimes while on the job.

For the third year in a row, North American Title Company has spearheaded the cause by acquiring the expertise of David Racine, Chief Director of the National Crime Prevention Program and a specialist on REALTOR crime prevention. Racine will present his signature seminar -How NOT to be the Victim of a Crime,- which addresses a wide range of dangers real estate professionals face every day.

Safety Seminar
September 14, 2006 - 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The Heard Museum
2301 North Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ

-According to Jacki Semerau, REALTOR Safety Advocate and Business Development Manger for North American Title Company, We are expecting as many as 300 agents at this event. Real estate professionals are often alone, and quite frankly, walk complete strangers through unoccupied homes and offices on a routine basis, making safety a very real concern. This is our third year hosting this seminar and agents report huge increases in their awareness of how to prevent being a victim. We cannot over emphasize the importance of safety for individuals in this industry.

-In a recent survey, the National Association of REALTORS reported that 67% of those surveyed experienced safety incidents and issues with harassment while executing the various aspects of their position. A staggering statistic given the number of current REALTORS in Arizona is estimated at more than 50,000.

-Many of the attendees renew their commitment to safety each year at this seminar and take full advantage of the expertise of Michael & Lisa Tippett, certified self-defense instructors and co-owners of Arrowhead Tae Kwon Do, who lead an interactive portion of the seminar. They will be teaching the attendees several basic self-defense techniques they can use to escape an attacker.

-The interactive demonstrations with Master Tippett was very educational. I was not aware of any of the techniques. I truly feel more prepared to respond to a challenging situation if that ever were to occur. says Corinne Freedman-Silverado Fine Properties.

-North American Title Group Family of Companies is among America's largest title companies and is owned by a Fortune200 Company. North American Title's Arizona Headquarters is located at 3200 E. Camelback Road, Suite 150 Phoenix, Arizona 85018.
